Happy New Year to you! I hope that 2013 is wonderful and fabulous to you! Goodness it's been a while since I posted in my poor neglected blog. Like many, I have a few resolutions this year that I hope to be successful at achieving and one of those is to post at least weekly to my blog!! I love my blog but the thing that holds me back is the writing, I find it so hard to put into words what I would like to say!! Second on my res list is to successfully complete a project 52 so that I can print up an album at the end of the year! I'll post more on that later. Third on my list is to enter more contests and challenges to keep me growing in my work and that leads me to the photo I'm posting. IHeartfaces has their "Best of 2012" face challenge this week. It took me a while to decide on my entry but I just loved this session with this gorgeous senior so much. Everything was so perfect, the light, the weather and she was such a sweetheart, the perfect model. This shot of her in her soccer jersey I love, she is going to play soccer at the college she will be attending next fall. The thing I love about this image is that she's looks tough and formidable but absolutely beautiful at the same time! F is for Fairy, is the first thing I thought of when I saw the ABC challenge at iheartfaces. My girl loves anything fairy and I love how she's totally channeling her inner fairy in this image. I feel so lucky, just love my job and how could I not, look at this gorgeous baby girl:) She turned exactly six months the day of her session and she was just a sweet angel. She was the perfect little model!!

~Family Fun~ {Sacramento Family Photographer}

Happy 2012 to everyone!! My first post for the year:) Hope everyone had a wonderful New Year!! Hope you all had some wonderful family time during the holidays. I spent a great time with lots of family during Christmas. We had fun and it was good seeing everyone. I've been working on my new website and picking my favorite images from not just 2011 but 2010 and 2009 as well. My site has been in need of a serious update for a while. Not sure if any of you saw this image I posted in fb but I thought of it as soon as I saw the theme over at iheartfaces this week, "Family fun"!! This is a favorite family image I love from a family session in 2011. This little guy was hilarious, such a cutie and full of character, I loved photographing him. I had a blast with the whole family. There are some amazing images to see, so if you have a chance head on over to iheartfaces!

Wow, it's been way too long since I've posted in my blog.  So sorry I've neglected my wonderful blog.  Last year, I started a photo project and did not finish it. This year, I'm determined to start a photo project and finish it to the end.  I chose, Let's do 52 hosted by Annie Manning of Paint the Moon Photography. Every week a new theme will be posted on her blog and our goal is a take a photo that fits the theme.  I'm happy to get started but sad that my first post is not a happy one.  This past week our sweet cat, age 17, lost her battle with kidney disease.  We adopted her when she was 2 or three and she was a member of our family for 14 wonderful years.  I still remember the first day we met her.  We went to Petsmart to find a kitty to keep our first cat company.  So in we walk during their adoption center event and look in all the cages.  Well, our sweet kitty flipped onto her back when we opened her cage door and wanted us to rub her belly.  Not many cats act like a dog that I know of.  She had the sweetest, kindest personality.  She always greeted us when we came home from wherever and she loved hanging out with us.  She loved to jump up on the desk while I would be working, rubbing my face trying to get me to stop typing on computer.  I've missed her dearly the past few days.  Missed hearing her meowing at me,  having her at my side hanging with me and picking her up to give her a huge hug and love. So, I'd like to dedicate my first project 52 to our sweet kitty.  This image of her I love because she hardly ever would look into the camera for me.  Her favorite thing to do was be as high as she could be above everyone so naturally she's looking down at me.

What a fun session I had last Friday with these two cute boys.  I've known them both since the oldest was in Kinder and the youngest was born.  I met their Mom when my daughter started Kinder, we were room Moms together and our kids are great friends:)  I loved capturing their fun moments.  We had great fun!!   Thanks Shannon, for all your help and choosing me to photograph your sweet boys!!

Happy Monday to you!!  This image makes me smile and I adore the warm fall colors.  It's as if the petals are dancing.  A great reminder that fall is just around the corner.  Fall is my favorite time of year:) Can't wait!

~One Eyed Wonder Girl~

Well, our summer vacation officially ended last Wednesday. My girl went back to school and is now in Fourth grade. I can't believe I have a fourth grader! She had a great short week last week and seems to be loving school. So, I thought of this image when I saw what the theme was over at iheartfaces this week. I've always loved my daughter's eyes, they are blue and have this cool dark line around her iris, very striking. And, this image cracks me up. If you haven't been to iheartfaces you should, they have some amazing photography work to see.

~Be Still My Heart~ {Sacramento Child Photographer}

I so wish time didn't move so fast. This week, my sweet daughter had been posing for me in different types of light. I was, of course, trying some new things and she's a trooper to still pose for her mom:) When I saw this image, my heart skipped a beat. I have many images of my sweet girl but something about this really struck me. Oh no, it can't be, it's a glimpse into her future. The look she is giving me is so grown up. It selfishly makes me wish I could stop time. It's hard to believe that the next big steps are around the corner. I just want to squeeze her like I did when she was a baby. If I did that now, I'd get an "Oh Mom". But, thank goodness she still loves to be hugged:) This image will definitely be a fav of mine for a very long time.

I love seeing returning clients. It's so wonderful to see how the kids have changed and grown. It's been two and a half years since I saw the "F" family. They welcomed a new baby boy 5 weeks ago and he is scrumptious. I especially wanted to post the images today, St. Patties Day, because he's wrapped in this green blanket and he looks so good in green:) The kids were so sweet to their new baby brother.

This week the theme at iheartfaces is Sun Flare. My daughter and I just love this image. She told me she was going to swing to the sun and wanted me to take a photo of her. Now, she looks at this image and says, "Mom it looks like I really did swing to the sun:)"

~Sweet Baby G, continued~ {Sacramento Newborn Photog}

Merry Christmas Eve!! Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas with your family and friends. I'm super behind with my blogging but wanted to post a couple from my session reschedule with Sweet Baby G! He did so well, slept for us a lot of the session, even though he was almost four weeks old. We were even able to get his adorable big sister in a couple shots:) His Mom was really hoping for some sleepy baby shots. I was thrilled that he was okay with wearing some of my cute hats. I especially love him in that blue knit hat.
I'll be on vacation through Jan. 3rd. But, will hopefully have time to post a photo or two.

~Sweet Baby G~ {Sacramento Newborn Photographer}

Had the wonderful pleasure of meeting sweet Baby G, who at the time of his session was just over two weeks old. Such a cutie!! Well, during the session he was so interested in his surroundings he decided he wasn't going to sleep, much to his mama's dismay. We tried everything and then we had to unexpectedly end the session:( Upstairs, my son had an unfortunate accident that involved his top two teeth and his play table. He scared himself, his sitter and his mama silly!! But, in the end he was okay! Took til the end of the day for his teeth to stop bleeding but he was a trooper. No images of the crime scene, but here are a few sneak peeks of baby G. Enjoy!!

~Trio of Handsome~ {Sacramento Child Photographer}

On Wednesday afternoon, I had a fun session with three adorable boys in Old Town near the train museum. This is the fourth year I've had the pleasure of photographing these three. I've known them all since they were babies. At our very first session the oldest two welcomed a new baby brother. He is so darn cute! He blew his Mama kisses during this session and he is very good at telling his brothers what to do:) They are growing up so fast and I love to see how they change each year.
We had fun climbing on some trains, checking out the turntable and looking at the river. It was a colder afternoon than I expected but they were troopers! Just one for a sneak peek and will post more this weekend:)
